Remote Data Capture
Accessing data in remote areas can be expensive, time consuming and demanding on resources. If language, cultural, data storage and access issues are also thrown into the equation, then the situation becomes more complex, and is often associated with unforeseen difficulties and frustration.
The Hampton Data Services’ (Hampton’s) solution, on-site remote data capture, addresses and resolves each of these issues in a rapid, professional and cost-effective way.
Using state-of-the-art scanning hardware and our own specialist software packages, our experienced multilingual geotechnicians travel world-wide to carry out on-site cataloguing, indexing and digital capture of a wide variety of data types.
Data Types
  • well logs
  • well passports
  • seismic sections
  • production history reports
  • pressure analyses
  • water analyses
  • drilling reports
  • completion reports
  • well directional survey
  • core analysis reports
  • well test reports
Data Types
  • engineering reports
  • petrography and microfauna
  • porosity/permeability results
  • well bore diagrams
  • geological cross-sections
  • well cross correlation
  • seismic shotpoint maps
  • geological maps
  • photographs
  • sound files
  • videos
After data capture, the resultant scanned raster images can be stored on electronic media and, if applicable, transferred electronically to the location of choice. No original data leaves the client site. On return hard copies can be made, well logs, maps and documents can be digitized, and surface seismic data can be reconstructed and processed.
To date our trained engineers and technicians have successfully carried out remote data capture projects in Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Syria, Poland, Malaysia, France, Austria, Libya and Italy.
 Former Soviet Union Specialisation
In addition to handling western style data, Hampton’s Russian-speaking geotechnicians have processed in excess of 5000 wells and thousands of seismic lines from the Former Soviet Union (FSU). In this specialist field Hampton have the reputation of being industry leaders for quality, knowledge, and remote data capture expertise. Hampton has also initiated the process of setting up and maintaining the industry standard for Russian well log mnemonics.
 Cataloguing Software and Services
HDBASE, Hampton’s geotechnical data cataloguing database, was developed to capture and organize analogue, raster and digital data sets. Utilizing existing indexes provided by the client, together with data entry, it provides E&P decision makers with a clear overview of all available resources gathered from the field, displayed in an ordered, coherent manner. With HDBASE the user is able to find missing data and create reports on data coverage.
HD GeoSCOPE - Hampton’s E&P Information Management System
Once data capture and conditioning has taken place, HD GeoSCOPE, Hampton’s web-enabled map-based information management system, offers an effective solution for the staging and delivery of all your E&P information to the whole project team.
With an intuitive map-based interface, powerful searching modes and flexible indexing schemes, it delivers results straight to your desktop. The client/server architecture exploits the latest networking standards and technologies to provide a centrally managed, low maintenance solution that is easily integrated into corporate networks.
