Seismic Section Scanning and Trace Digitizing Services
Hampton Data Services (Hampton), have established a new partnership with Phoenix Data Solutions Ltd, one of the E&P industry’s leading providers of specialised seismic data services. Hampton is now pleased to announce the launch of a new range of services for converting your hardcopy seismic data to industry standard digital format.
 Scanning and Digitizing Services
Our experienced geotechnical team will scan your hardcopy seismic sections and accurately capture the trace information in SEG-Y digital format, thus enabling your data to be:
  • loaded into a workstation
  • further processed
  • re-displayed at a more useful scale
Using a leading edge software solution, SeistrakTM (which utilises a wide range of trace tracking algorithms, including full waveform tracking), we are able to ensure that the best possible results are achieved from seismic sections of any display type or condition.

Output digital traces
(note the near perfect trough digitizing even in a high amplitude zone)
We are also able to digitize non-trace data from seismic sections (elevation curves, fdp plots, velocity tables, interpreted horizons/faults, etc., and we can populate the relevant trace header fields utilising any of the data types that fit within the SEG-Y format model.
 Additional Seismic Processing Services
In addition to our scanning and digitization services, Hampton also offers in-house processing and plotting of 2-D post-stack seismic data (either derived from scanning or from existing digital data), such as:
  • migration
  • deconvolution
  • FX deconvolution
  • FK filtering
  • phase matching of different data-sets
  • derivation of migration velocity fields (in the case of sparse or absent velocity information, etc.

Before and after examples showing the potential for improving data digitized from paper sections by means of further processing - in this case FK filtering.
 Hampton's Service in Summary
  • high quality scanning and digitizing of hardcopy seismic sections
  • compliance with ISO9000 type quality standards
  • SEG-Y or workstation format digital output
  • the opportunity for old data sets to be modernized and integrated with new data
  • storage of fragile hardcopy data in an enduring, accessible, safe manner
  • unrivalled expertise in the further processing of scanned seismic data
