PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGY · GIS & METADATA PLATFORM · BUILT FOR THE ENERGY SECTOR
GeoSCOPE: The GIS Platform
for Energy Data Management
100% of your data. Classified, linked, and validated — at 10× the speed.
GeoSCOPE is Hampton Data Services' proprietary GIS based platform grew out of oil & gas data - developed initially for the complexity of E&P subsurface data classification and geotagging. Its functionality has expanded to handle data from renewables energy, marine hydrographics, environmental, metocean, facilities & engineering.
It processes 100% of available files of any type, clasifies them, automatically links everything to the relevant spatial object, and does it at >10× the speed of conventional methods.
THE PLATFORM
Built for the data complexity that off-the-shelf tools cannot handle
Energy data is unlike any other industry's data challenge. You have physical paper logs alongside LAS files from the 1980s alongside modern DLIS alongside seismic navigation files, production databases, and core sample photographs — and they all need to be linked together, spatially, to be useful.
GeoSCOPE was built specifically for this problem. It was not adapted from a generic document management or enterprise data tool — it was developed from the ground up by people who have spent decades inside E&P data environments. From this core expertise its capabilities grew to manage data from renewables energy, marine hydrographics, environmental, metocean and facilities engineering.
The platform underpins every HDS service engagement. When you work with HDS, you are always benefiting from GeoSCOPE — whether you are using it as part of a data capture and analytics project, a virtual data management engagement, or accessing it directly through a standalone deployment at your own site.
KEY PLATFORM CAPABILITIES
Automated batch scanning and metadata extraction across all major E&P, hydrographics file formats; no manual file-by-file processing
Geo-tagging that links every file to the relevant spatial objects (wells, sesimic survey, field, concession wind-turbine) automaticlaly
GIS map visualisation for direct comparison of referenced and unreferenced data across a basin or block
Handles well logs, seismic navigation, production data, subsurface models, facilities data, SSS, MBES, MAG, bathymetry and ROV surveys
Multi-language support — Arabic, Cyrillic, French, Spanish, Portuguese — without character loss or data corruption
Deployable across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments without infrastructure disruption
Output in standard open database formats: SQL compliant structures
Real-time monitoring for new data arrivals, duplications, and changes to the environment
Supports data rooms for asset transactions and M&A due diligencence with secure access controls
WHAT GEOSCOPE PROCESSES
Every data type across the E&P subsurface lifecycle
GeoSCOPE processes the full range of E&P data types — not just well logs, and not just digital files. If it exists in your archive, GeoSCOPE can classify, link, and validate it.
Well Data
Well logs (paper, film, LAS, DLIS), well headers, completion reports, mudlogs, formation tops, DST reports, core analysis, and petrophysical interpretations.
Seismic Data
Navigation files, SEG-Y data, observer reports, survey geometry, processing reports, and interpretation files across 2D and 3D surveys.
Production Data
Production histories, well test data, pressure data, reservoir simulation models, material balance files, and field development plans.
Facilities & ROV
Facilities survey data, ROV survey videos and reports, subsea equipment records, and pipeline inspection data.
Maps & Reports
Geological maps, structure maps, stratigraphic cross-sections, technical reports, and field study documents — scanned or digital.
Scanned Documents
Legacy paper documents of all types — field notebooks, lab reports, contractual well documents — OCR-processed and catalogued.
Core & Samples
Core photographs, thin section images, sample catalogues, core analysis reports, and associated laboratory data.
Regulatory & Contractual
Government submissions, licence agreements, PSC documents, well permit applications, and regulatory correspondence.
HOW GEOSCOPE WORKS
Four stages from raw archive to validated, linked data
GeoSCOPE automates the most time-intensive stages of E&P data classification — the parts that would take years with manual methods.
01
SCAN & INGEST
GeoSCOPE performs a complete batch scan of your data environment — LAN, WAN, physical archive, or cloud storage. Every file identified and logged, regardless of format, age, or location.
02
CLASSIFY & EXTRACT
File type identified, metadata extracted, and content classified against E&P data categories. Multi-language processing handles any character set without data loss.
03
GEO-TAG & LINK
Every classified file is automatically linked to the relevant well, seismic survey, field, concession, or geographic area. A complete, spatially aware picture of your inventory is built.
04
VALIDATE & DELIVER
QC checks run across the linked dataset. GIS map output generated. Validated data loaded into the target database or delivered in client-specified format with full documentation.
DEPLOYMENT OPTIONS
—
Deployed at your site, or as part of a managed HDS engagement
GeoSCOPE is not a SaaS product accessed via a web browser — it is deployed directly into your data environment, on your infrastructure. This keeps your data under your control, behind your security perimeter, at all times.
Most clients access GeoSCOPE as part of a DCAS or VDM engagement, with HDS operating the platform on their behalf. For operators with in-house data management teams, a direct GeoSCOPE deployment is also available — with HDS providing training, configuration, and ongoing support.

The most effective way to understand what GeoSCOPE can do for your archive is to see it running against a sample of your own data.
